My Story

A camera at sixteen. A company at twenty-two.

Every story embodies unique passion and vision — my job is to make sure yours shines brilliantly. Here’s mine.

Chapter 01 — Where it starts

I grew up glued to documentaries — Science Channel, History Channel, anything that explained how the world worked. My dad is a software engineer, and for about a year of college I was set on becoming one too. Then the storytelling itch won the argument. (The engineer in me never fully left — more on that in a minute.)

Chapter 02 — The camera

In 2017 I bought a Canon Rebel T7i and, at sixteen, started ClipPlayTV — a YouTube channel telling technology and entertainment stories documentary-style. That channel has earned 1M+ collective views, and making tech content through college grew a following of 100K across platforms. It taught me the craft one upload at a time.

Chapter 03 — The hustle

By eighteen I had real clients — portraits, weddings, corporate, nonprofits, a bit of everything. Five-plus years of freelancing followed: cinematography for Insider, work with studios across Alabama, and second-shooting weddings from the American South to Southeast Asia while carrying a full course load.

Chapter 04 — The company

I launched ClipPlayMedia one month before graduating from the University of North Alabama (B.A., Journalism & Digital Media Production, May 2022). Six months later I moved to Atlanta to be closer to my clients. Today the company has shot in 13 states with 17+ collaborators — corporate, nonprofit, and government work, from Georgia to New York to the Carolinas.

Chapter 05 — The builder

Remember the engineer? He finally got his turn. I build software for creatives like me: CalendTree, for running a creative business without drowning in admin, and Y2Cam, a film-camera app for iPhone. Storyteller by trade, builder by blood.

Chapter 06 — Off the clock

Great coffee, the next trip, and teaching — I share what I’ve learned about photo and video with 24K+ followers on Instagram, because someone on YouTube once did the same for a sixteen-year-old with a new camera.
